Elegidos nuevos dirigentes de los barrios de Puyo, advierten que los delincuentes están mejor organizados, mientras la Policía no cuenta con los medios necesarios.
Los últimos tiempos la dirigencia barrial en Puyo ha pasado desapercibida por discrepancias internas y la renuncia de algunos de sus dirigentes; mientras en los barrios los problemas de toda índole se agudizan con el pasar de los días, uno de ellos es la inseguridad.
El pasado 3 de agosto de 2023, feneció el tiempo de quienes estaban al frente de la última dirigencia. Dando cumplimiento a lo que estipula el reglamento interno, procedieron a elegir a nuevos dirigentes, los mismos que el pasado 8 de septiembre luego del registro en el Ministerio de Vivienda (MIDUVI) con la presencia de las autoridades locales fueron posesionados.
La flamante dirigencia de la Federación de Barrios de Puyo (FECOBAP) estará liderado hasta el 2025, por Luis Agreda en calidad de presidente y le acompañarán más de 10 dirigentes en diversas funciones; quienes fueron elegidos recibieron el apoyo de dirigentes de los ocho barrios, de los 10 barrios que constan legalizados y registrados.
“Nuestro propósito es trabajar en beneficio de los barrios de hecho y derecho, de todos (…) vamos a empoderarnos de las necesidades de cada barrio…..La inseguridad es un problema que ataca a todos, por ahí empezaremos”, anunció el Presidente.

Considera Agreda, que es urgente la reacción de la ciudadanía para exponer las necesidades y participar en acciones que el barrio requiera, expresó que en gran parte la población carece de empatía y permite que las necesidades crezcan y no haya apoyo ni solución alguna. Ve necesario que la gente se organice para evitar la presencia de los delincuentes, “Debemos crear frentes de lucha, trasnochar, realizar rondas, vigilancias y los vecinos por turnos, defender lo nuestro y buscar la paz y tranquilidad”.
El dirigente denota que la Policía Nacional carece de implementos necesarios para cumplir su tarea de brindar seguridad a la población. Refiere que los 137 asambleístas deben unirse para reformar leyes y cambiar el Código de Procedimiento Penal, cuerpo legal que permite la libertad y fácil operación de los delincuentes.
